A Brand Expands

When an established brand branches out there is pressure on everyone to ensure that the new offering matches up or exceeds the original. So, with some excitement I headed out to the Kimana Sanctuary near Amboseli to see what Angama was up to.

The first thing on any safari is the first impression. The impression of the sense of place. Is it authentic and will it match up to the lasting impression? We teamworked the first impression – useful when the grand Mt Kilimanjaro is the backdrop!

Next we dived into what is the iconic feature of the place. After Kilimanjaro it must be the elephants! So spending time each day watching, discussing and learning – a deep dive into eles was key. Spending time with researchers to dig even deeper was a real privilege.

Sharing the conservation message is also a key element of an authentic safari, so we did some sessions unpacking how best to explain and present the story here. The role of government, parks, business, community and NGO’s like Big Life who work tirelessly in this region.

Exploring, sharing and having fun is what we should be doing with our guests, so we made sure to do this! Quality of vehicle, impeccable food and service are all part of the Angama brand and I think that Angama Amboseli is well set to deliver.
